Good Thursday everyone...
I'm finally sitting down from a very busy day. I took one of my foster dogs (Dottie) in for a dental today at 7:30 AM, came home and cooked dog food and cat food. I got a call from the vet saying that they had to cancel the dental because her heart rate was erratic. I picked her up at 10:30 AM. They can't be sure what the problem is with her heart until all of her blood work comes back, which will take about a week. Her pre-anesthetic blood work didn't show anything but he suspects that she may be on too much thyroid medication. So I had to go get her early without having pearly white teeth... I'm not complaining, I'd rather have the Vet err on the side of caution rather than have her die on the table from an undetected ailment...
When I came home it was close to lunch time so I stopped and grabbed a bite then went outside and weeded my front flower beds. Things are beginning to grow again now even in the drought conditions we are in. Of course I do have an irrigation system that I put in last fall just to be sure the plants and bushes were getting enough water in the arrid Florida winters. What weeds I couldn't pull out I cheated and used Roundup... That stuff is as necessary here in Florida as fire ant bait!
I managed to feed Mom somewhere along there too. I can't remember when she finally told me she was hungry, I think it was about 2 PM. She simply has no appetite at all. I make sure she gets at least three or four small meals each day but it's not easy to feed someone who has no interest in food.
Now I'm watering the front lawn. It looks just terrible with brown with patches and weeds all over. I'll probably mow it some time early next week just to get everything at the same height so it doesn't look so terrible. That is if something else doesn't take my time...
Mom has a doctors appointment and a blood draw tomorrow so that will kill most of the afternoon. She'll need to shower in the morning and I'll have to make sure she eats something before we leave the house. It's almost like caring for a child....
Everyone have a great evening
hugs
