I was thinking about his reactivity too...
I really love going to trials even if I am not running, I volunteer, help friends with their dogs.. u know like you go walk your course I get your dog out for a pee, lol.. That kind of thing. I walk around for a bit, relax with Toffee somewhere, treat him for being on his mat and not going off at other dogs, lol. That way I have now worked my way up be able to sit ringside with him on the mat beside me to watch everyone else run and be a spectator without stress, while other dogs are running or lining up and getting ready to run. Competitors now don't even notice that Mr T is reactive ![]() Just my friends know, or if I tell people, no Fluffy cannot say hi to Toffee, lol However, I completely agree with being able to manage like Tara said, so it can definitely be done. But I wouldn't trial him, were I in your shoes until I knew he'd not be overwhelmed... physically or mentally

I'd say it depends on your attitude about it. I don't mean that in a snippy way either. We've been dealing with this a lot with my daughter. If you go out there stressed about it, well Koji will be stressed too. But if you go out there and tell Koji, "we're gonna go have some fun!" and just go do whatever and not even worry about if you mess up or even what order you might do the obstacles in, well it could just just a fun day to go play...FOR FREE!
If you get in for free, sign up for everything if you want and then just scratch runs if you don't feel up to running that one. Treat it like free playtime and I bet you'd be surprised at how well you guys do and how much fun you both have!

Trialing, to me, should be fun for you and your dog. We're very new to agility and have only entered one starters jumpers trial thus far. We're entering another one the end of March. Hubby and I can only enter our guys in jumpers because they haven't yet mastered weaves and Zoey is still scared of the teeter, but even if they could do the entire course I wouldn't want to wear them or us out by entering several trials. Just do what you're comfortable with and realize that, hey, you may screw up. No big deal.

I think you have a lot of good qualities it takes to make a very sound come back. Where do you think you need to start? What will you need to stay consistent this time and follow your plans? /which I found impressive in the past/
