Holy cow - too smart. We would be in big trouble if Asta and Ally did this, as they are left in the kitchen when we are at work. We don't have handles on our cupboards though, they'd have to hook their paws around the edge and pull.... not that some dogs wouldn't figure that out! Yikes!

Ashley - had to laugh about your kitty. Our first Sheltie Skye was also the "enforcer" when our cat Katie was being bad. She'd bark and come running to get us....

Here's my routine when I leave the house (or go in the yard or back rooms without the dogs).

All chairs on top of the kitchen table - yep didn't take long for Tully to work out how to push them out.

Clear the benchtops because she can jump all the way up if she really wants. It's the getting down that's a problem - I've come home to find her waiting on the table/bench for me to rescue her because she couldn't jump down.

Elastic bands and catches over the cupboard doors to stop Deska from nosing them open.

Rubbish bins on the far side of the benches so Deska won't get into it (Tully doesn't cruise the far bench).

Which is why its just easier to take the dogs with me wherever I go!

Hollie knew how to open cabinets too. She would open tha cabinet where her treats were then she would lay there staring at them. She knew she wasn't allowed to take them herself. We purposely never oiled the hinges so we knew when she was opening it. I am glad Shelby never figured this out. She would eat everything she could get her paws on.
