How is he with a sit stay when you walk a smaller circle around him? I would keep reinforcing a good sit stay there, and gradually expand your circle...

If you heel with your left arm across your belly - then keep that arm hanging naturally while you go on your walk about.. my dogs know that if that left arm is folded - we're supposed to be heeling!

I wish you lived closer, would be a blast to train with you!

Wow congratulations! I agree--looks like it might be a tough place to keep attention and it sounds like they both did really well.

Love that picture--Can't help but notice that Dixie was a bit distracted!

we are going back to that now- reading the exercises last week, I was so thinking of pulling them but decided to give it a shot.
we had not heeled around people or practiced a stay like that until going in the ring.
so we actually did better than I expected.....

I wish we were closer too- it would be fun- no one else close has shelties. My friend an hour away is the closest sheltie that we can play/train with.

well, we've only not competed in a horse arena at Sheltie Nationals (agility-outside on grass; rally-indoors) and Cran went to one indoor rally trial last fall.

Dixie might be thinking that she would like to get past the other ring to the far side of the arena where the agility equipment is still set up
