Hi all,
I have some behavior that is getting me to wits end. I have found that Tia is seeking out her crate to poop in. This morning I tried something to hopefully break her of that habit but I am hitting a wall. This morning I fed her in her crate with the door closed and after she finished I was going to give her a few minutes to settle down before taking her out and i walk around the corner to see that she had pooped in her crate. I am frustrated as my last Sheltie was very clean and easy to house train and I always thought that this was a characteristic of Shelties. It is probably my technique. I then just took her out for her last potty break for the morning and gave her plenty of time to do her business; no performance. I then put her in her crate and just a few minutes later I heard a bit of crying and then saw she made a mess in her crate. Do I have a Sheltie that thinks her crate is a toilet?! ![]() She is 14 weeks old and I feed her twice a day. She was fed at 5:45a and then put in her crate for the last time for the morning at 8:00a. Any thoughts. Ed |
