So after having Hugo with us for almost 2 weeks we have found that he is a little hoover! He will even scoff the low calorie training treats I bought for Darla, who refuses to touch them. With the aid of said treats, we have taught him sit, off, stay, go on (as in go and eat) with leave and down as a work in progress. He's doing extremely well, a very bright and cheeky pup, with the waggiest tail I have ever seen!

When I saw the subject of this thread, I thought you were complaining!
Does he have any trouble working around food? Ie. if he can see the treats in a bowl will he be too focused on the food and not be able to respond to cues?

A little at first, but I just take my time with him, let him calm down a bit from all the excitement and then he is usually ok. The hardest trick to teach him was stay as he would dive for the treat as soon as I tossed it on the floor.
a few uh uhs stopped him though.
