So true. The only way to heal the loss of our Jake and our Lacey Blue was to rescue both Robby & Ceilidh. That is indeed a worthy legacy. Regards, Will

Every time I read that I cry for all the poor pups that don't have a loving home and humans to give them hugs.

I read this and think of my poor Bela - so long unloved in a puppy mill, and my beautiful Neechee - who never knew a want for anything in his long, long life. How different their lives have been! And how much I needed Bela when Neechee was gone!

I will never regret having rescued Bela, though she isn't the performance puppy I wanted. The place in my heart that Neechee left empty will never be filled, but from the first moment Bela was placed in my lap, she made her own special space there.

That poor little puppy mill mama has come so far, even though I made so many mistakes with her that I'll never be able to count them. Fortunately, she is resilient, I am persistent, and as I type this, she's play-bowing and prancing around the room trying to get sister Gracie to play with her! Her face is rarely without that goofy Sheltie grin and her happy Sheltie bark!
