I just looked at your album and Grace does have a few black lines showing up on her tail. I have a feeling she will remain a bit more pale (she is almost blond, it is very lovely) but will also develop some nice black shades to her coat.

Can't wait to see future pictures. She is very beautiful!

    Wow, Justice is gorgeous.

It's wonderful to see how these puppies change as they grow.

Is there a thread here showing the progression from puppies to adulthood? I can't seem to find one.

It was apparent pretty early on that Bacca would be a red sable. The question was always how much dark guard hair would overlay.

Here is Bacca then (at about 6 months) and now (at 4.5 years). He stayed pretty true to colour

I should also say that my forever pup was a mahoghony from the get go, but he definitely got darker as he got older. So far, I'm not seeing that with Bacca.

These are beautiful dogs. I love seeing the difference as they grow. Bacca and Jasper are gorgeous.

Anymore pics out there? I can't get enough. :biggrin2:

So, what do you call this color? In the final picture, he looks like a tri, but he sure wasn't when he was little!

Some call it a mahogany sable. He is a bifactored Sable.

His coat is dark brown not black. Very obvious when compared to Diva. But yes they do get confused for Tris alot.

    Justice, Diva and Ember-same lighting.

He's beautiful. I have never seen a sheltie this color in the flesh (or I guess I should say 'in the fur') I am in Michigan, and there are not a lot of shelties here, at least in my experience. I saw my first bi-black this summer, after many years of 'sheltie watching'. What a treat that was! Now I have to 'quest' the mahogany sable!
