I have to say while its not funny but where I work we have a newly graduated physician who is from the midwest and every time someone tells him something new every patient he sees he thinks has the the new aliment mentioned..well I saw this on my news this am and we have been doing all we can in the office so he doesnt hear of it..lol...I was joking since its unnamed he'll want it named after him needless to say it was a long 12 hour shift today

But now back to dog news anyone know if it affecting dogs? or the symptoms??

The article says it has the same symptoms as lyme except no rash and it did not say it had affected any dogs yet.

There are several tick diseases. My border collie had anaplasmosis. It's nasty but treatable. The vets here test for a panel of related tick diseases. Perhaps this new disease you mention doesn't affect dogs.
