Default herding instinct-Cranberry

well, the dog show in Pensacola was this weekend- they had herding instinct on Friday and Saturday.
so got up early Sat and drove over there so Cranberry could get Q#2 and get his herding instinct certificate. it was pretty empty there where the sheep were- the obedience/rally people were all getting set up and the conformation people were also getting things set up.
there were a couple dogs that went into the pen before us- the judge said that these sheep weren't the best for instinct testing but that they would be able to tell if the dog had instinct or not. sorry no video- I saw people I knew later on but no one then. Cranberry did very well, I was able to call him and he came so that was good- couple loops around the pen with the sheep and we were done.
plenty of time to watch my friend and her setter and then to see Gina and Cisco when the shelties finally got in the ring.

Jocu also made a brief appearance since he's had more shots now- everyone said how cute he was and we were only asked twice if he was a border collie

That is so cool!

I'm going to post a few questions on another thread, but why did you have to go back a second time? Don't they test for herding in one day? Or are you working towards the first title?

you need to get two Qs, two judges for the herding instinct certificate.
when we went before, Dixie got 2 Qs and Cran only got one.
so we had to go to another instinct test which are pretty rare around here.....
this one was am/pm on two days so you could theoretically get your instinct testing done in one day or over both days.
next year, hopefully Jocu will get to try
