Unhappy Looking for my Simba

Hello,

I've joined because I'm hoping to find out what happened to my beloved doggy, Simba. My name's Maria. I had to give him to SC Sheltie Rescue (I think it was them) in late August 2009, because I was moving to the UK and couldn't, at that time, bring my baby with me.

I just really want to know what happened to him, where he is, if he's still alive. I miss him all the time, and I wish I could have him back. He was born in 1999 (I think), purebred, neutered, sable & white. I used to shave his hair so it was shorter. I left him with the rescue woman and gave her my Simba scrapbook and his pedigree certificate. His "full" name is Simba Miseter Junior.

Not sure if this is the appropriate forum or not, but it is why I joined.

I hope you find him. Have you contacted the rescue you left him with?

If Simba is registered I wonder if the new owner transferred it to their name. Maybe the registry agency could check that for you. I would definitely check with the rescue group you placed him with. I keep records on where all my adopted dogs go. You do wonder how they are. I am blessed that I hear about most of mine from time to time.

Rescues can not pass papers, so that is not a viable outlet.

In general, rescues do blind adoptions, meaning the old owner and new owner never meet. This is to protect the new owner. Your best bet is to contact the rescue, and ask them to contact the adopter for an update.
