We have three kinds of cones in our retinas and dogs have only two, so they have what I would call 'extreme' red/green color blindness. I teach about color blindness in my biology courses,

interesting....my daughter has Achromatopsia...lack of cone vision.

And, when I go to the pet store, I'm going to look at dog toys that way to see what 'pops' for my furry one. Just because it pops for me doesn't mean it will for her!

I have read that dogs can easily see things that are pink...this true ?

No. According to this site http://dog-vision.com/, to them pink would just be gray-yellow depending on the shade.

This is unfortunate since Missy has a ton of pink stuff..
