I'm getting off topic.

Anyway, I was curious about the Furminator. I'm seeing bad reviews and good reviews. The Furminator looks likes it's... Sharp :D. Sort of dangerous looking. Does it ruin the coat? Some pictures would be helpful for before and after. Tanks in advance! I hope to get to know you guys better.

Hi,
Like you I was sceptical but after reading positive reviews for shelties I took the plunge. My Nala is just on 11 years old and blessed with a wonderful coat and this tool has been the best...easily.. that I have used. I am on my 5th sheltie...have 2 at present...and I would say as long as you are careful...and always spray as you go along... you won't have a problem Remember it is designed to strip the undercoat so you really have to line brush. My youngest sheltie, Mischa is only 13 months old and I would not dream of using it on her. Wait until they have their full adult coat before trying it. That could be 2 years old or even older. Cheers, Brads

I have had 3 Shellties. I have only used an under coat rake when needed. The thing that makes Shelties very pretty is the coat. A little trim, bath and brushing is all I do. I am happy you want a Sheltie. You will not be sorry. They have such a personality.
