Hi everyone, a question on food for my little man. first I guess I should give ya'll the background info. Shiloh is my 8 y/o sable child. He's been at my side since he was about 6 weeks old, he is rather large framed, way outside of the breed specific guidelines. He's at his target weight of 37 pounds, per our vet. He has a moderate amount of exercise and normal GI (no issues).
he's about to be due for our checkup and I'm planning on having all of his labwork drawn so I can make sure I am feeding him appropriately. Currently he is eating Taste of the Wild Pacific, 2/3 cup in the am and pm with a bone treat in the afternoon. I was interested in Orijen and Acana as an alternate food for him based upon the good reviews, champion's reputation for production, the high quality ingredients and apperntly higher levels of additives such as glucosamine and chondrontin. So you guys know what he eats now and what else I was looking at... I am just wanting to know if the other options I listed are better for him than what I am doing now and I'm also looking at the economic side of it (far less important) help a overwhlemed and confused dad out.

I used to feed Taste if the Wild and liked it just fine, but both of my dogs were pooping 3-4 times a day. I decided to try Acana for some of the reasons you mentioned.
I'm really happy with it (they've been on it over a year). The dogs poop less, and I like the various protein sources to rotate between. Then TOTW had a recall, and I'm even happier that I switched away from it.
