Default Shampoo for puppies

Do I need a specific shampoo that is tailored for puppies?

I like the shampoo made by Top Performance that is "no more tears", and smells like baby powder. It makes puppies irresistable! (and I'm not kidding)
I've used it for years.
I buy at Petedge.com.

Generally, you want a mild, hypo-allerginic shampoo.

I like Tropiclean Oatmeal Puppy

http://reviews.petco.com/3554/109053...ws/reviews.htm

It smells clean, not too fragrant, gentle and non-irritating.

btw - its really not necessary to bathe your pup too often because frequent bathing can dry out their skin. I would say no more than once a month, and even that might be too often.

You can do quick clean ups with a pet wipe on the bum. Also, just misting with plain water and brush out will also help keep pup smelling fresh.

I also like thier cologne. It does not seem to be drying, but I only use it sparingly.

Thanks for the info on the shampoo. Scout had her grooming every 6 weeks, so that's probably what we'll do with Jagger eventually. We only wanted to bathe him this once to knock the thick layer of dirt off (he was used to playing outside all day).

I've found anything that is for puppies that is labeled 'no more tears.' to work fine. Any oatmeal shampoo should be fine too, they're typically pretty gentle.

This is what I got. It makes Missy smell amazing since it's baby powder smell. I also like EarthBath puppy shampoo because it smells like cherries. I only have the wipes in that one though, and I'll probably buy the actual shampoo when I run out of the other. I use EarthBath conditioner and it has collodial oatmeal and not much of a smell.

I went with puppy shampoos because of the tearless and gentle. When I bought them, I wasn't sure how cooperative Missy was going to be in the bathtub, and didn't want to risk hurting her if she managed to get shampoo or suds in her eyes. Turns out she's ok with baths. She just kinda stands there and looks pitiful like I'm torturing her, which is ridiculous because she plays in the water at the park and lays down in the pool there.. so it's not like she doesn't like water!

P.S. Missy is 9 months old.. still a puppy!
