Default Puppy Weight

I measured Grace today to see how she's getting along. She is now 14 inches tall and 18 inches from chest to behind. She now weighs just under 17lb. She is 6 and half months old. I know she is a chunky puppy but hope she isn't too overweight.

I need to measure Jagger's height, but he weighs 21 pounds. He's going to be a big boy!

Default Myles

Hi from Alaska, we just got a new sable boy, he was the largest of a litter of 5 and is now almost 9 weeks old. We talked to the breeder early and arranged it this way. Our other Sheltie is a 16", 30 pound girl that is 7 years and we wanted a larger pup to "hold his own" during rough play.

What a chunky monkey, I'm measuring him at about 10" and the scale at our pet/feed store says his weight is 8.3 pounds. Already a little over in height and weight of the average 11 week old pup. The breeder says he may grow quickly and level off early, more to come!

I'm beginning to think that my 4.5-month old Dickens is something of a Sheltiestein. He's 13 inches and seventeen pounds; long-legged and gangly, looking more like a little Borzoi than a Sheltie. Here's a photo of him that I took today:

At this young age he weighs only a pound less than his father, although his mother was a really big one. At 44 pounds she looks like a small Collie.
