Emi is improving quite a bit these days. She had skin biopsies last month and they came back pretty clean. No mites (take that old vet!), no funky growths, just thickened skin due to being constantly itchy. Diagnosis was what we already knew...she has allergies in addition to her hypothyroid. The vet suggested starting Atopica, but I'm still wary. We are seeing improvement with the Solixizine, Zyrtec, and anti-fungal baths, so I think we will continue doing what we are doing and hold off on starting an immune-suppressant.

Wow she looks so much better. I agree with you about the immune suppressing drugs, keep doing what you're doing. She is lucky to have you caring for her.
