Default Sailing Kyara

Here's Kyara on our sailboat during an evening outing this week.

It's her 4th or 5th outing on the boat and it was the first time we let her have the run of the deck without her leash. She did great staying in the cockpit and keeping an eye on the ducks in the water.

I am proud of my girl, next year we will bring her on an overnight for sure!
Does anybody else have Shelties that sail or do some other form of boating?

We visited friends at their lake house and took all of ours out on the boat along with their one. They were all amazingly good!

Kyara looks like she's having a ball!

She is a very beautiful, happy girl. And those are some great backgrounds.

Excellent photos. Thanks for sharing them with us.

ps Love her life jacket.

OMG that is SOO cute, I love her vest!!
Toffee and I went on a sailboat once... with friends and their Dad
Toffee did amazingly well! He sat there and enjoyed himself looking at everything, he was very well behaved
He barked at boats if they came too close and at the Harbour seals, lol

My sister has a 36' Catalina and has been suggesting we bring Tinsel out for a sail. Maybe next summer we'll try it. They used to take their westie all the time and I think her hubby misses having a dog on board. Great pictures by the way.

Thanks everyone!!!! It's funny how great they do on boats. She sometimes looks a bit scared of the sails but tries to hide it and look courageous like ''I'm just fine, I love being out with you guys instead of being home'' .

She loves the water though and when her lovely life jackets comes out she gets so excited.

Wow, Catalina's are so beautiful, we always admire them at our marina. If you ever do visit with Tinsel next year please take plenty of pictures .

One thing I like about Catalina's is that it is easier to go for a swim since the back is much lower than our Tanzer 26'. It would be much easier to let Kyara out for a swim when we are anchored. She would adore that so much (hmmm maybe too much and try to go swimming when we are sailing ).
