My Sheltie is in problem. Doctor diagnosed with arthritis. Any suggestion or advice.

Most older Shelties get arthritis. When my last Sheltie started showing symptoms, I put him on glucosamine chondroitin, the same as people take. It can take up to a month to work, but he was better within a week. For days when he really seemed to be having a lot of stiffness, I would give him doggie-strength aspirin. Some people on here have also used Rimadyl.

I also use a joint supplement for our oldest Sheltie Murphy (Cosequin chew once daily). Has helped a lot.
Please be careful about giving any dog aspirin. Talk with your vet first. Also ensure that you Sheltie is not overweight, which can be stressful on their joints.
