Default Not a technical question but a suggestion...

With a sheltie who is hypothroid, and having just finished reading the Canine Epidemic on hypothroidism, Shelties are in the Top 10 for having this disease.

I wonder whether it makes sense to create a thread on this topic alone. I don't mind starting it off with a synopsis of my learnings and own experience.

I expect that a number of conditions are being misdiagnosed (e.g. skin and behavioural) because lack of awareness. Most people think this is a senior dog's disease. It is not.

I was fortunate that Bacca was diagnosed young. Its been an up and down battle every since....

I just finished reading the Canine Epidemic. It was an eye-opener for sure. Every Sheltie parent should read it.

Any mention of using dessicated animal thyroid instead of synthetic for hormone replacement ? This is always big on human thyroid disscussions...

You can create a thread in the disease and illness section. If you title it with "sheltie and hypothyroid" it will easily come up in search engines.
