On March 28th, the volunteers of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center at Bethesda were honored for their service. Among them was Layla Sable Lafferty, who has served Wounded Warriors for five of her six years. I am so proud of her!

Congratulations, Layla Sable! You may be small, but you are doing a very big job - thank you for helping those who have done so much for all of us.

(by the way, Chris, I think I remember you asking a question about the tips of Layla's ears going gray - I've never seen anything like that! It's quite pretty.)

Layla, thank you for being such a special part of the vet's program at the hospital. I don't think you will ever know how much your visits mean to them. You are serving your country in your own special way. And Chris, a big thank you and hug to you from the daughter of a Canadian Vet (who was not acknowledged as a vet until the 1990's).

How wonderful. Congratulations to you. What you do is so important. Before my auntie died she loved seeing dogs at the hospital. She took pictures of all of them and kept showing them to everyone and telling any visitors about them.

I had a bunch of junior high kids write letters to the soldiers at the Red Cross Walter Reed before Christmas! Bit of a small world. I wonder if any of them went to soldiers you and Layla work with.
