If she was a younger dog I would have no prob doing the surgery but shes 12 has a heart mumrmer and her kidney values are slightly elavated. Im trying what I can to avoid surgery
She doesnt seem painful which is giving me so peace of mind still acting like her silly self. Just walks with a limp but I can tell when it pops in bc then she walks pretty normal.

So sorry to hear this. My Sheltie has been diagnosed with a luxated tendon in her hock, that they were able to treat with rest and meds since she was so young. They also told us she has grade 1 luxated patellas, which might or might not cause her problems. Periodically she comes up limping, but with a rest on Mom's lap and a little massage of her leg, she jumps off and is herself again. I still wonder if we might need surgery at some point in the future -- but I agree that I wouldn't do surgery on a 12 year old dog with other health issues.
I hope your vet and the specialist will be able to come up with something to do to help relieve the problem.
