Default Pics of Tyke

Hi all;

My wife was going through some old photos of our pack & found some of when our Tyke was a pup. We thought you might like to see them so we are sharing.

Tyke is the only sheltie we did not get as a rescue. He is "by far" the most well centered & calm dog we have and boy -what a charmer!

Hope you enjoy!

I'm a bit puzzled when I read all the accounts of flighty, yappy and generally ill-behaved Shelties. My Dickens is like your Tyke; he's so very gentle and placid in the house, and never gives any trouble. I'm thinking it must be the upbringing. Dickens lived with the breeder in the company of many other puppies and any number of humans who engaged with him, until three months, when my wife and I got him. We've always been sticklers for discipline with dogs, so of course even at that age we brooked no nonsense--not that he gave us any, because he's been eerily perfect from the first day. Rescue dogs I suppose are a different story, and if they have special behavior problems you can probably put it down to the lack of care and bad handling many have received. I doubt if it's the breed itself.
