When we were returning from downing the dogs, I whispered to him, "Mine used to be that big until I washed him in hot water." with a straight face. He started giggling and it was infectious - we could barely contain ourselves.

After the class ended, he came up and we started talking about our dogs. His collie was fascinated by Neechee, and kept nosing him around like a mother dog does a puppy. Neechee, being his testosterone-fueled self, was oblivious - much more interested in chasing the golf carts going by (it was at Atlanta Motor Speedway).
that would have been an awesome picture
you would appreciate one of the tshirts that I got from sheltie rescue at the Nationals- there's a sable sheltie and it says "Honey, I shrunk the collie"
I laughed and had to buy it

It really is a guarantee of human contact when you walk your Shelties. Given that my two are such different sizes, it invites lots of comments, like "Male and female?" or "Mother and daughter?" and then the very puzzled looks when I explain that they are Aunt and Niece, with Ally (smaller) being the Aunt. When I add that she is also 6 months younger than Asta, people don't know what to think.

I then remind folks that dog "generations" can be only 6 months apart and that Ally's father was Asta's grandfather. LOL.

It was over the top at Thanksgiving with the two girls getting so many compliments and, I'm sure, lots of food slipped to them behind my back!!
