Bacca is due to go onto a product called Zentiol. I've not researched it yet, but this is the next stage of his liver treatment. Up to now we were monitoring diet and had him on milk-thistle (Hepato-Support)

She was supposed to follow up with a more detailed plan by email which apparently she sent yesterday but never arrived, so I'm still waiting for her resend.

@Tagg....not sure if the Liver Tone is the same as the Hepato Support I've been giving Bacca i.e. milk thistle. I expect so.

Frankly I'm still on the fence as to the seriousness of his blood counts. The vet put me on serious alert, but looking back at his previous counts, they aren't a whole lot worse.

I plan to to a spreadsheet so I can map his ups and downs. Maybe we I get this done, it will help others as well.
Barb remember Dr.Jean Dodds information about diets for liver compromised dogs. Go to her website and check it out again. We had Seamus on it for a long time with good results.

I have been feeding our girl's Fromms. Fromms is a good food that I feel good about. USA made and the dry food is not outsourced as some of the wet brands used to be that they make.

Also I am putting Harper on a lower protein and lower fat, which would be the sweet potato and whitefish brand that they make. It does have grains though but is much lower in fat and protein. You can see all the ingredients on the Dog Food Advisor site.

Fromms has never ever had a recall, not one! Hope this helps.

Hugs,
Kate

P.S. As the others have said, do contact Jean Dodds. She gave me so much help with Seamus when he was so desperately ill. She is willing to do anything that she can. I very nearly love that lady.

I never thought to contact her myself. I always assumed that she would be too busy to respond to individual requests. I'll give it a try

But my goodness, trying to reconstruct Bacca's history will take a week! Oh, well, best get on it!

Well, uuum, buying Fromm's would mean buying from one of my competitors since I can't currently carry it in my store. What is it about Fromm that you think is better than other brands for a hypo/liver challenged dog!?
