Ha Ha Ha, you are in luck. This is a Golden Retriever/Shetland Sheepdog household. I have had two Goldens live to 15 and one month shy of 15. I currently have one who is almost 4. I have had a Sheltie live to be 15 and currently have one who is almost 10. We have loved both breeds. None of my dogs were/are barkers (Goldens or Shelties). My Goldens always needed more exercise and more brushing. I had one Golden who had an oily coat, the other two did not. Goldens are definitely more needy but I loved that about them. Shelties took longer to groom.
