Sheltie Coat Texture?

    Ohhh.. I didn't know the coats change in texture too when they are sterilized! She was spayed as a pup, which explains the cottony undercoat (and accompanying leaves & twigs) EVERYWHERE. :gaah

    Interesting thread so far.

    Bacca who has the harsher coat, does not matt up much, nor do thistles and burrs get stuck in him. But when its raining, he is much harder to wipe rub dry to bring him inside. By the same token, his undercoat is always bone dry. Wetting down Bacca entirely for a bath takes forever!

    Indy with the thick pants and soft coat, absorbs every burr he brushes against. But when it rains, he is easier to rubb the surface hair dry. But to wet Indy down entirely, he is like a sponge!
