Default Back to normal for me and the kids

We had a busy holiday season and non stop company since December 9th.. Now that all of my friends and family are finally back home where they belong I can get back to my normal routine. The kids are enjoying not having so many feet to look out for and those knees can do a lot of clipping of sheltie noses! We are enjoying quiet times and finally a clean house. I'm tackling a mountain of linen and blankets so I can get ready for more company for the weekend. Pookie's rescue fest is this saturday so I will be hosting a couple of girls who live in St Pete for Friday evening then all day saturday we will be at the event then they will stay over Saturday night and go home Sunday Morning....
Rescue has been quite busy but in a good way... We have taken in 95 dogs in 2012 and adopted out 105. 43 of which came out of my home. On a sad note we did lose one of our precious pups in December. He was brought in as a healthy seven year old and after about two weeks began to show signs of kidney failure. After several days at the vet he perked back up and came home. He was good for 10 days and went down again. We lost him on Dec 19.
Now in 2013 it seems to be raining shelties here again. I've taken in three so far this month and two more will come in today or tomorrow. Our applications are coming in but most of the applicants do not have a fenced yard and all of the dogs I have available need a secure fence. We are hoping this pattern changes....
Best wishes to all for a wonderful 2013

Hugs from me and the Rescue Squad

105 dogs!! That's amazing work. I hope that you succeed in finding homes with fenced yards for your rescues. It's funny, virtually everyone in California has a fenced yard, with at least 6 foot tall fencing in the back yards. Just not an issue. I guess we like our privacy here!
