One day Sammy can do all that and more.No weaving or jumping for Sammy till she is a year. There is all different ways to teach weaves.

Yes Epic was 15 months before we started. Weaving puts quite a lot of strain on their joints so they need to have stopped growing.
The method is called 2x2 because you start with 2 poles and then add 2 more and that teaches the basic technique and entry. I'm pleased with where we are now but it hasn't been a smooth journey exactly. I needed lots of help to start with:

From my experience with Epic I don't think this method is suitable for every dog and certainly my other two shelties would not have managed at all well with it.

You could get Sammy a little tunnel that she could practice running through - I did that with Epic when he was a baby, it is terribly sweet to see them going through and they really enjoy it.

I taught angled weave poles when I first started training and then later learned 2x2 training. I found I was much more successful with the 2x2s.....but with small dogs (chihuahuas at first is what I trained.....the angled just didn't work too well as they aren't big enough to even notice the angle at times )

They are looking great! Good job training them

Thanks Mitchy and Dr Shelli

He's almost on 4 straight now but I've been proofing in different locations (around the field as there's limited options for setting weave poles up around the village ).

Hopefully the weather will be kind so we can have our lesson on Saturday. I'l have to skip the following week as I'll be at Crufts and I want to see how he copes with proper weave poles.
