And ANOTHER free score of 80lbs -- this time deer/elk/wild boar and all different parts! Two deer legs/quarters and then next weekend picking up 100lbs of buffalo! Whoever says raw is more expensive is nuts! I've spent 100$ on dog food since June and I feed 2 15lb dogs, a 20lb dog, and since September a 40lb dog!

I dont give my dog a whole leg, most of what we get is from someones freezer. Mostly deer and one time we got a half a deer but we sent it to get cut up just like we would if we were to eat it.

awww what a waste! Half the fun is keeping them busy for hours. It's fulfilling their natural instincts and in the wild, they don't eat it all cut up! It's the best mental stimulation you can give your dog. Hours of chewing on something it adores. Their favorite thing in the world is to chew on a deer leg for 3-4 hours. The pig leg only lasted about two hours. This was from someone's freezer, too. I guess they didn't cut it up, I dunno but I prefer it whole b/c I just leave it out in the yard and they go to town on it. lol

OMG! That is a LOT of meat. Um, love the photos. They look like happy "wild" dogs. hehehe. I didnt' find it gross, maybe because they weren't all red around the mouth yet.

I have to say, you must have a HUGE freezer. I would never have thought of that, but how fun. I live in SoCal, so no "fresh caught" meat here...well, probably not.

Yeah, we do! We have a 5 CU FT and just upgraded to an 11 CU FT!!! They usually don't get red around the mouth or maybe it's that they clean each other off LOL I seriously think it might be the latter b/c I do see them licking each other a lot after eating... Hadley does get it in her ruff LOL

That is a HUGE freezer!!! Maybe one day when I have the room, and a backyard to toss the meat into, I'll go all raw. ;)

Then afterwards, I can just hose them down, and the grass. hehehe.

I do worry about that some day... we might not always have a yard and room for a freezer! We plan to move abroad at some point and living over there is small! But the good news is, people buy fresh food daily there so I guess I could go that route. We are looking into Ecuador and it's funny -- it cost more to buy kibble there because it's a novelty item more so than meat! It's cold here today so I laid a sheet down and they all ate on that... one of them did carry a bird in the livingroom and my partner came home and just lol@their being a dead bird in the living room floor! LOL It was dry and not bloody and gutted lol so it wasn't messy but still funny lol
