Default Milli Puppie update

Here's a small update on Milli. It's been 1 week since the vet took off her leg cast. Milli is EXACTLY 5 months old today or 21.5 weeks old . She weighed in at 18.7 pounds at the vets this morning and I'm roughly measuring her at 14.25 inches tall at the shoulders. How much bigger do you guys thing Milli will be? I'm hoping for above 16 inches =). I kinda think shes getting Fat though. Apparently Healthy adult shelties should be between 16-20 pounds base on what Wikipedia says but Milli is already nearly 19 pounds and still growing. I dont want a Fat Sheltie! That said, I Cant wait to bring her out for walks However We have to wait till shes done her vaccines in the next month or so.

Anyone has any advice on what kind of leash and Collar/body collar to buy???
We actually dont have one yet! We want to go out and buy one this week sometime.

Some weeks or month back I create a thread about Milli's extreme hound ears. They aren't hound ears anymore hahah!! One day we woke up ( last week) and noticed 1 ear starting to go up and laying flat on her head ( millimarch4.jpg) a week later ( now) both ears are ups this way ( millimarch 1,2,3 jpg )... Funny =). We wont be taping , tipping or gluing . We're just letting them do whatever they want to. We've also noticed that her soft baby fur is still coming out and that her adult coat is starting to grow in on her back. Its

She's recovering well from the leg injury and is starting to use the leg more. She still has a small floppy paw compared to the other but we see improvements everyday. Lots of muscle mass is still missing. Which brings me to one question. Milli broke her Tybia which healed straight and extremely well BUT we've noticed that her paw/foot is slightly crooked ( different bone all together than the one she broke) at the bottom of the leg. I'm not SHOCKED because she went through a big growth spurt while she was in her cast so I imagine that the cast restriction has affected her foot a little. Imagine being a 12 week old puppy and breaking your leg and growing 3+ inches in a cast =). Anyways, our Vet this morning told Us not to worry about it because she's still growing and it might fix itself with the new muscle tissue and bone growing and physio which we do 2 times a day... You can see it here in the picture Her surgery scare in the middle of the leg and then the bottom foot is curving in... Looks worst in the picture than in person fo some reason. But when shes standing you dont even notice it. Anyone experience something similar??

Other than that, Shes doing just fine. =). If the vet isnt worried , I trust his judgement.

Oh, Milli is looking wonderful! Trust your vet -- puppies seem to provide their own physical therapy.

I use Leashes by Design. Shannon makes kangaroo leather braided martingales and leads, and they're lovely. They aren't cheap, but they last and last!!!!!

Milli is very beautiful.

I am praying for that "total" healing for her leg.

Note: I know that children heal quicker than adults. Possibly puppies heal quicker than full grown dogs? Maybe some one can answer this question for me.
