Oh Dawn, I'm so sorry to hear this about Gypsy. I'm trying to hold back the tears as you know I'll be there one day too with Miko (and I'm at work).

It's never an easy decision. Do you think it'd be worth it to get another opinion? As in wait for your regular vet?

Ugh. What can I say that could possibly make this any easier. Not much I'm sure. Just know that I'll be thinking of you and Gypsy while I run my heart out with Koji (agility) and spend some precious time with Miko between runs.
If you need anything that I can do, by all means, just let me know.

Oh Dawn, I am so sorry. I hope that Gypsy has a comfortable weekend and that the two of you can spend as much time together as possible. We are all holding the two of you in our hearts.

Dr. Todd sounds wonderful. I am so glad that you have kind, caring professionals to help you and your sweet girl through this difficult time.

Cheryl I wish another opinion would make a difference but I have had several.
My vet in Md. thought I should let her go a couple months before my move so did her Dermatologist, Dr Bruce her new vet asked me if I had thought about it and we even discussed Stem Cell Research they are doing but it is too experimental on Dogs with Kidney Disease, they have done far more with cats and I couldn't find any info on a dog being done yet. I did read they are having great success in Stem Cells with arthritic dogs. Bottom line on the Stem Cells it would be very tough on her and it is too experimental for me especially with her other issues. I don't want her to be a Guinea Pig. I spent alot of time with Dr. Todd today and I do respect his opinion. Believe me I am not ready to let her go and I have to think long and hard about this before I make my decision. My world revolves around this little girl 24/7 but, I do not want her to suffer any more pain or indignity due to my selfishness of wanting her here.

We are not considering letting her go because of an incontinence issue, her Kidneys are not working enough to give her the quality of life she deserves.

Wow it was hard to write that last line and harder still to accept.

Dawn, typing this thru tears. I went down this road with my first girl, Skye and its all too familiar. The agonizing, second-guessing, heartache. I'm sorrier than I can say.

Hold her close, love her hard, let go when it's time. It's hard even to type that. I am thinking of you both and wish I could deliver a hug. You have done more than any person I know to keep her going so you must trust yourself. Look deep into her eyes.... I think she'll let you know.

Dawn, You and Gypsy are in my prayers. I pray that Gypsy is comfortable and rallys this weekend. I know you will make the right decision when the time comes. Hugs.

Words cannot express how sorry I am for you and for poor Gypsy. I wish there were something I could say to bring you comfort.

Gypsy is so lucky to have you and you've done such a wonderful job with her. Most people would have given up on her long ago but you've given her a wonderful life through your dedication to her special needs.

Hugs to you Dawn and kisses and pats to Gypsy. I know you cherish these last days you have with her.

I know you're going to miss her like crazy but you'll be doing such a wonderful thing for too by letting her go. Try to find comfort in knowing that she won't be in pain anymore and won't feel sick, she'll be running and playing at the rainbow bridge like a healthy year old dog, waiting happily for the day when you'll be reunited.
