Baron was an absolute star ⭐️ in class today!!! Today was the first time we had to do out of sight. The trainer holds him while I leave the room. He did not cry, whine or make a fuss. Just sat patiently for my return! I dreaded this exercise as I did not know how he would react. I was so proud of him. He also did fabulous at the greeting and letting the trainer touch his foot and ears and brush him! He looked concerned but sat by my side without protest. When I first got him he would not let a stranger touch him! The only issue I had was a long line for the 10 ft recall. Baron is not used to it and he made a really wide return away from the long line on the ground. This could be a problem to get him to come straight to me. He was doing so well training at home as I use dowels on the ground about 3ft apart to give him a tunnel to come straight. He also is a little hesitant... head down... not looking secure in the recall quite yet. At home, he does it perfectly! He has come a long way! It helps that there are only three dogs in the class and they are all non-reactive! Great trainer too!
