I take it you must be from the west? I hope not, not with all the snow. I lived in Northern Alberta for five years and saw snow the August we moved there.
I live in the Niagara area of southern Ontario, right on the shores of Lake Erie (about 50 k's from the Canada/US border). It has been really hot here - like July. The humidity is the killer though, not so much the heat.
Enjoy Riley. Sounds like you have gotten yourself quite a little puppy. Emma has a personality all her own, even at eight months becoming a guard puppy at night. She'll be an only "child" just because I don't think I could handle two right now, as I am looking after my parents who are 83 and 81 and not in good health. They "babysit" during the day.
