- Dogs that own me::
- Ginger, 10 yr old ShiPom and my new puppy, Scout, 3 month old Sheltie.
I am a retired Medscripts South business owner who loves almost all animals. I volunteer at our local zoo, play golf, kayak, and am mom to two parrots, my dogs, and our Maine Coon Cat, Max.
We have always wanted a sheltie puppy and now that we have him, I have to say he is full of vim and vinegar. He is so smart and his training is going amazingly well. He can sit, down, stay and is fully potty trained. However, his breeder did not socialize him at all and as a consequence, he is fearful of loud noises, car rides, strangers, and cars. He is walking well on the leash, but when a car passes, he totally freaks out.
His barking was expected, but much more than anticipated.
I would like to learn from more experienced sheltie owners.
I am happy to have found this forum.Interact
