2011 Nationals Forum Meetup

I was wondering how many people might be interested in meeting up at the 2011 ASSA Nationals. I still haven't quite looked at the schedule, but Jennifer said that Tuesday there wasn't much going on for her. So since Tuesday would be a free day that we would have the entire day to visit the town and maybe some sight seeing.

OR.

If this is not possible for some because of schedule conflicts maybe we could all meet up and have dinner together somewhere?

I was just kind of throwing the idea out there. I will not know for sure until mid/late December if I will be able to go. I am going to beg, cry, and plead until they say yes! :cool:
 
Tuesday night is visiting hours!! Thats when you get to go to everyones grooming area and see all those gorgeous pups!! I came late the last nationals I went to we didnt arrive until after 9pm on tuesday so it was pretty much overwith than, but still got to see some nice dogs!!

But Yes I think it would be awesome to meet up with all the forum members attending!

I think she cleared Tuesday off because she wanted to do some sight seeing. I think that was the only day she wasn't going to be doing something (like ring wise). Karma is going to be showed in conformation and I think Ellie and Shaine are going to be doing performance events. I think. Don't quote me on that, because I might be wrong. :uhoh:

I went to the schedule site, and it keeps saying a lot of the times are to be determined. So I am thinking maybe dinner? Because I am sure in the morning time everybody is going to be busy with getting their dogs ready and then of course during the day it's go time. :cool:

I am going to buy so much stuff it isn't going to fit into her car. :biggrin2:
 
Tuesday is the symposium. It has not been posted what the topics are or who the speakers will be. It is very rare that it isn't something that would interest everyone, or sheltie health related. Visiting hours start at 6pm that night. You might do better on Wednesday night after judging. Maybe order pizzas and everyone can buy a slice for a dollar. That is what they do for the juniors on Friday night. As to where, that could be determined.
Also, since judging will have started, it might be an opportunity to talk about what people saw that day, and what dogs excited them. Just a thought. I believe the local club is hosting a trip to the casino, for people interested that night. Thurs night is the ASSA meeting.

So do most of the events end at 6pm? :confused2: I only really glanced at the schedule. I'm wondering if Jennifer is planning on getting her new vehicle before we leave, because I don't understand how we are fitting two adults, three dogs, puppies, and luggage into her car. :eek2: :lol:

That's another reason I wanted to throw the idea out there kind of early, because I wasn't sure how these things worked. I also didn't know if anybody would be staying at the same hotel as us or not. Neither of us have ever been there before.
 
Seconding the Wednesday night recommendation... Tuesday is great, but a lot of people will be busy either showing off their stud dogs or "husband-hunting".

It's funny, I feel like every National I plan on sightseeing in the local area, and then just end up spending dawn 'til dusk in the show building anyway. :dead: :lol:

Wednesday night sounds good then. :yes: Also maybe I can watch a few of you in the ring from the side lines as well. :cool:

I don't think Jennifer is going to be doing agility, because she said it conflicted with something else she was doing. I forgot what event it was though. I know she is doing obedience, but I am not sure about rally.
 
Im staying at Jelly Stone campground as of right now, we have full kitchen firepit porch etc. If you want to you all can meet back at my cottage for pizza or what ever that night! ...they also have mini golf:winkgrin:
