A continuing Sca-ga

So last night I am unloading the trailer and figure I will drop the gate rather than use the side door so Sca can check it out. At first he would walk on the gate but would not cross the 2 inch gap to the trailer. Then he wandered in but was ready to run. Then he could not resist and had to go check out the pile of stuff..... always keeping an eye on me of course

This morning I get up and let him out of his carrier and we head to the door. Glad it is not raining yet I open the door so he can go out (our morning ritual). Well, I go back and hit the snooze alarm to do a couple more minutes of sheep inventory. So the alarm goes off and I jump in the shower only to hear rain on the roof when I get out. I figure Sca will be hiding in his dog house ready to charge into the dry for food (part 2 of the morning ritual) but when II lay the drying towels out and open the door no Sca...... I call him... no Sca... I look up and he is setting in the center of the yard with the rain coming down looking around He sees me and then comes charging in for a towel wrestle and food.

I guess this is dog number 2 that does not have the sense to stay out of the rain

Well, at least he isn't a diva and refuses to go out in the rain, I have one of those! She will hold it all day before even considering going out in the rain!

I am waiting for snow (well actually I hope we don't get any this winter). My previous dog was a Spitz/Cocker Spaniel mix that was known for his crazy (part of why I wanted a higher energy dog) and he was into everything but snow. A true southern dog. The first time it snowed I was figuring on seeing a crazed dog in the snow. Instead he put one paw in it, stopped, picked the paw up looked at it, put it back down, picked it up looked at me, put it back down, picked it up and backed into the house. His opinion of snow only went down from there. I think Sca will have fun in it though...

I also can't wait for snow. Puppy's first time in the snow is so exciting. I hope the first NY snow fall is on the weekend. I'll be so disappointed if I have to work and miss her first time.

I'm anxious to see Meggie in the snow too. Being from Florida, it will be interesting to see. We had light snow flurries one day and she was trying to run away from them. Pretty funny.

Although she doesn't like the cold, wet grass, Meggie doesn't seem to mind the rain. She'll hold her little face up into the air as if enjoying the scent of the rain. Man, she's cute.

So is Sca, by the way. Super cute little guy!

I got Iris in March (where I com efrom snow stays until April/May) and she hated the snow , she would sit at the front step and look up at me as if to say " My tootsies are cold and I want in " ... after it warmed up the snow melted for a week and then came back, Oooof she loved it she would nto walk on the sidewalk onlly on the snowbanks it was cute!


I also am excited for this winter seeing as shes older and will definitly enjoy the snow x 100000 this year

My boys love the snow! I can't stand it....I hate it even more when I see the poo bundles just begging to be picked up in -20C weather. It looks so gross.

Wasn't so bad in the summer, because the guy who cuts my grass also picks up the poop!

I think I'm going to Petsmart this weekend and buy a pooper scooper. I don't think I can stand another winter where the backyward is more brown than white (between snowfalls).

Go to TSC and get a pitch fork, the one I have actually looks more like a rake. They work great and are really good during the summer - no shovel marks in the grass.

oh you should have seen the looks I got yesterday when I made Callie go out in the rain- she wouldn't believe me that it wasn't going to stop anytime soon.

Sca probably thought you arranged the shower to clean him up a little

He got revenge by going under the trailer. Now he will need a bath to be all silky again but he is signed up for puppy class now so he will soon mind perfectly
