Ziggy stayed with me for two weeks before he went on for his surgery. He is just the nicest little boy and deserves all the love and care we could give to him.

    Enjoy his story:

What a wonderful ending to this sad tale. That must have been a difficult surgery and recovery for Ziggie but what a wonderful reunion for him. Bless all involved.

What a heartwarming story that ends well for Ziggy. May he enjoy the rest of his days with Solomon.

Judy, I may have missed something, but why did he have to have his ear drums removed? Poor little guy! But so heartwarming that he is back with his brother.

Thank you for all that you and Barbara do for our sweet shelties!

Such a sad story but so glad for the happy ending.

Ziggy and Solomon are so cute! They remind me of Ginny and her brother Brodi. Brodi is an over sized sheltie and Ginny is undersized, but otherwise they look exactly the same.

He probably had chronic ear infections. Happens sometimes when ear infections are not dealt with properly and sometimes even if they are dealt with and just never resolve do to resistance.

His previous owner did not take care of his ears. Our vets think it was mostly due to food allergies and his ears were so bad that they would actually drip puss... We cleaned them, irrigated them and added steroid drops twice a day for several weeks before the team of vets decided that the ablasion surgery would be the only cure for his chronic pain and infections. This is a very serious and very expensive surgey but we felt he was worth saving and canvased our National team of rescue organizations and came up with enough money to have the surgery done. Now Ziggy is free of pain (though deaf) and can live as close to a normal life as he can without hearing. All through the process he was a trooper and never lost his sweet loving temperament even though he was in a lot of pain....

I wish you a continued happy life little Ziggy. You deserve the best of everything from now on....

    Hugs
    Judy

Ziggy sounds like an amazing sheltie.

I'm glad he had a happy ending and was reunited with his brother.

Believe me...you don't need your hearing or your sight, to know that someone loves you and that you are loved back, twice as much. Been there, done that! Your baby will be fine and so will you.
