As an update, Petco now carries the Acana '+ wholesome grains' formulas, and I've been feeding them to Kip since January. I'm trying their different flavors to see what Kip likes, because he's picky. So far I've tried 'Kentucky farmlands (his least favorite, but he ate it), American Waters (His favorite), and we're just starting the 'Free Run Poultry' flavor.

He likes all of these better than his puppy food, so I'm happy about that. I like the protein levels (27-31%), plus it has EPA & DHA which I wanted since he's still a puppy. Its for all life stages. I also like the ingredients, and Kip seems healthy and happy.

When I was at Petco a few days ago, I saw that Taste of the Wild & Canidae have new 'grain inclusive' legume & potato free dog foods. I didn't have time to check their ingredients, but I'm glad that there are new options for those who prefer to avoid grain free.
