We are looking for some advice on partial raw feeding for the pup we are hoping to bring home early this Summer.

We have each had and known many dogs who've passed away due to stomach cancer and my parent's current dog is so allergic to commercial dog food that he bites and licks himself until his skin is raw. It is because of these factors that we are considering a partial raw diet for our future dog.

We were thinking of feedinf a high quality grain-free kibble with what I can get raw meat wise (I work in the food industry so I have access to human-grade venison, rabbit, and other wild game scraps)

However, I was reading that feeding the two in the same meal could cause digestive upset. We have neither the funds nor the knowledge to go full-raw so is it possible to balance the two?

Unfortunately much of what you find online regarding mixing raw and kibble being bad for dogs is unsubstantiated, there have been very few if any studies done on it. You can't believe everything you read online and of course being a raw feeder myself I question everything I read and what the sources are of it (the pet food industry has a very big reach).
Here's a link of a very interesting article and one which got me thinking of mixing raw and kibble for my 10 year old Sheltie who has liver issues. I feed him a mix of a dehydrated raw/kibble and a raw mix I make together at the same meal and I never have have any issues. I believe (as the writer mentions in article) that any problems that may arise are more likely caused by introducing too much raw at once and not transitioning slowly enough.

Thank you so much! I figured there was some questionable advice out there. My fiance's grandmother fed her poodle raw mixed with kibble for years and he seemed fine as well.

It's always helpful to hear about people's personal opinions, and I really thought that article was great :)
