Riley.jpg OK, having to post this makes my blood boil!
If I was not over my limit of 3 in my city I would take him in a heartbeat!

I alerted Carol from Michigan Sheltie Rescue. I hope to God she can get him.
It is making me cry seeing this sweet soul in a cage not knowing what the future will hold!

PLEASE, PLEASE, help to get the word out!

Thanks for getting the word out, Gloria - the best of the internet world is the way this kind of thing can be broadcast to a huge audience. I hope Riley can go into Sheltie rescue if he doesn't get a home first. Appreciate you advocating for him! :hugs

Carol from Michigan Sheltie Rescue got back to me yesterday and she had contacted the shelter and offered to help. Unfortunately, they declined. Sad as many do not understand the breed specific traits. I have spread the word to my other Sheltie friends her in Michigan who have access to Facebook. Hopefully, he can be in a loving home soon.

Gloria, did the shelter decline because they want to get the adoption fee for this sweet boy?

Carol said: “ I found out that they want to try to place it themselves.” The website posting does not mention any adoption fee. Although I would assume they must have one.

What a shame, Gloria. He would be so much better off in Sheltie Rescue! I see so many posts like this on Facebook, it's heartbreaking. Thank you for trying to help. I hope they find him a good and loving home soon!

Not so easy placing a senior dog, and he may be shy as well. Well, fingers crossed he will go to a good home quickly anyway. Thanks for reaching out for him, Gloria.

For goodness sake, they have 41 dogs in their care already! I just don’t understand why they won’t allow the breed specific rescue to get him! After all, they only have one currently and he could be in foster care and not stuck in a shelter! Sorry for the rant, but really! You can’t fix stupid!

If I say something about this, it's going to come out really ugly, so I won't.
