I know last year Liam had a horrible allergy and I was prescribed this drug Apoquel.

Ann immediately contacted me and alerted me to Caro’s horrible experience with this drug! I immediately stopped using it and returned it to my vet saying I will never use this drug again!

Please read this article and educate yourself since soon enough we will be in allergy season! I had the benefit of caring experts on this forum! We are blessed to have such caring individuals helping us!

I see many posts on Facebook (I saw this this morning) and so many that are still giving this to their dogs. Sad...

Thanks for posting this. The thought of this drug still being prescribed for minor issues makes me ill, and heartbroken.

Many posts on Facebook? Well then I guess it must be settled. For what it's worth, I disagree. Strongly.

I think everyone must research this drug and then decide accordingly. I for one would rather treat the symptoms that give them a drug that essentially covers them up. The less drugs I give my dog the better, but that's just my opinion.

The people here are very, very good and caring people, and the last thing I wish to do is be argumentative. But I have to say threads like this are concerning. Should anyone wish to discuss using Apoquel for their pet by all means drop me a private message.

I actually discussed this with my dogs' Internal Medicine Specialist, he was the one who advised me about the dangers and his concerns about it's widespread prescription by non-specialists.
