Best toys that aren't for chewing.

Hello SF. Gordon is in a post surgery condition which means he can't chew anything for the next 3 (out of 4) weeks. The poor darling is getting bored of being in his pen with only a large plastic ball which he rolls around. Desperate to give him another distraction which isn't him scratching his cone of shame or barking.

What are the best toys for dogs that you like which can't be chewed?

That's hard. So many toys are designed to go in the mouth.

When Tully was young she really loved the Babble ball. It's another ball to roll around but it makes lots of different noises (the animal sounds one, she wasn't as interested in the talking one). You won't want to leave it with him all the time tho, it'll drive you nuts. She also used to like chasing cat toys - the ones on the stick. They're more for pouncing than chewing although they do need a human on the other end of the wand.

I know you said he already has a plastic ball, but a big rubber ball might be fun too. Get one of those ones at the toy store that's really big and bouncy. Too big for them to get their mouth on it, but fun and unpredictable.

@corbinam thanks, Thats a great idea. i might see if i can find one today. Those balls from memory are fairly cheap from bigW or Kmart. The only thing is that his pen is small so not sure much fun he'll have with it in a small space but worth a try!
