Does anyone else have furbabies that get carsick? Luke does. Think it's because he tries to see everything going by and it's too fast?

When Brodie was young, he got car sick fairly regularly. We live on a hill and it's twisty, curvy and bumpy on the drive down - it would do him in! I live in CT and I don't think we have any straight roads! He grew out of it. Our first doxie would get car sick throughout his life. He travelled all the way up and down the East coast from Florida to Western Newfoundland. We would only feed him a bite of kibble at a time throughout the day when we travelled; just enough to keep his tummy happy and stave off the bile barfies. He never grew out of it but loved car rides. Deacon does not get sick, he drools. I think it's a mix of anxiety and motion sickness. He's getting better, but still has a long way to go.

Maybe try different things with Luke.... starting out with shorter rides and building up, maybe have him harness so he can't see out the window. And of course, there are safe options for motion sickness that you can give him; I am sure you will get lots of advice here. Good luck with Luke!

I give 1/2 tablet of Bonine, the carsickness remedy for people, half an hour before we're going to get in the car. It works wonderfully. You can get it in the drugstore or on Amazon.

At 7 1/2 months old Blueberry still gets car sick. I give Gravol but doesn’t work 109%.

I’m going to try this! Thanks Ann!
