Beckon is out of surgery. Dr. Robbins of Catoctin Veterinary Clinic said it went very smoothly. He was able to keep the hip joint, so Beckon will have a smooth, rounded rear, and his "privates" will be shielded. I can't thank each of you enough for the support and love you poured out to Beckon and me. You have been a part of my family for so long -- more than 14 years!

Now we begin the next steps: recovery, rehab and reintegration into new and important work!

Thanks for updating us, Chris. We're very glad it's over and went well. Prayers will continue as you both adjust to the new normal. Give Beckon a gentle pat from me.

Awesome news, so glad it went well and that they were able to keep the hip joint. How long will they keep him and how quick is the recovery?
Give him a few pats from me, sweet brave boy!

Chris, Sketch sends Beckon a 3 paw salute. Sketch also got to keep his hip joint and once his fur grew back in people didn't even notice he was missing a leg until he hopped and he could run as fast as he did before he lost his leg. Beckon has a great life ahead once past the first couple of recoup weeks and with his happy spirit he may sail through the next couple of weeks with little or no "down" time. I am so thankful the surgery went without any complications.
    Many hugs, Trini

Such good news, don't know why I'm crying though! You are both so very brave, hope the rest of his journey goes smoothly.
