    After reading that article on soy I went through the ProPlan I wanted to buy and found some without soy. I'm being more careful about food now that SS got his heart diagnosis

    From all the research I've done over the years on food, the key thing for any owner is still to educate yourself on what you do and don't want your dog to have and READ THE INGREDIENTS in the foods, and the order they're listed. You can drive yourself crazy picking and choosing over one or another ingredient, but if you keep up with current information from trusted sources you can make an informed choice. Even my vet, who was a grain-free proponent for years, now says he was wrong. I remember the years Alpo and Beneful were the go-to foods for dogs. We can only do our best with what we know.
