Good bed for a Sheltie?

Don't really know where to put this, but this seems like the right spot. Hubby wants to get Blaze a bed (tried our bed with us, but that didn't work out so he's been sleeping in his little carrier at night.) Blaze loves his little carrier, but I'm sure he'll be outgrowing it soon.

Anyway, Hubby seems to like the AKC Casabanca Round (really more oval) Pet Bed. It is advertised as 22" x 6" but the actual dimensions are 23" x 20" with a bolster around the bed. It's machine washable (which is a nice feature in the PNW where people "rust instead of tan".)

All mine prefer the Sleep Number model C:
Annie Laurie: 45
Layla: 37
Beckon: 100
Bitsy Boodle: 60

Mine prefer that double bed, where they can crowd out Mom.

Although I do have a little bed that I picked up for Emma - she refused to use it, but Liam and Natalie will fight over it at times. Other than that, I have an old wool blanket folded up on the floor at the end of the bed for them.

I am sure at some point I will need to look at better beds for them (and me too).

Olive alternates (her choice) between "sharing" a queen bed with DH and I and a pile of blankets over an old pilates mat in a soft crate, the door open so she can patrol our room during the night.

To my beloved German shepherd I sewed a big pillow - that she really loved.

Now it will be difficult - with my amazing English:

First, a random piece of fabric sewn like a big pillow, would like a zipper (not required) the pillow fill loosely with Krøyer balls (in the US ??)

Again sew a new pillow of a washable, strong, nicely and the practical piece of fabric with zipper, the first pillow put in the last pillow.

Minnie really love this big, big pillow because it molds itself to her tiny body.

She is very little with me in my bed, since she discovered this really big pillow.

This large pillow is cheap and easy to sew - and It's so easy to wash the outer cover (once a year?)

Now you are probably thinking, such a cushion, we know very well - it's so quite ok, but it also at least took 20 minutes to write this.:lol::lol:

Mine sleep on the bed with me. We also have a futon in the room and the dogs will sleep on that. Downstairs I have 2 of the fleece pads from the crate on the floor as well as a nice soft dog bed. Those are usually in use by one or more of the three dogs and two cats.

WA-the flea state

When we moved from CO to WA with our 1st sheltie, she got flea infested-never had a flea problem in high altitude. One of the pet stores offered this incredible bed. It is called Cedarsack- and made in Redmond, WA-just googled them and they are still around....it was a lifesaver for keeping the critters OFF her. Still have it so talk about durable as that was the late 80's. I would highly recommend that for your wonderful area :biggrin2:

Missy likes bolster beds. My aunt and uncle have this one and she loves to lay in it when we go to their house, I just haven't bought her one because they are difficult to wash- http://www.cabelas.com/product/Home...og-beds/_/N-1106732/Ns-CATEGORY_SEQ_103905180
At home, she has a Kuranda bed, and a flat pillow bed from Petco that you buy the "duvet" like bed, then the protective (waterproof) cover, and then a slipcover. It's been great as far as washing. But she has a couple different places she likes to lay down. Either of the beds, her crate, or on the floor next to the bed, sometimes in my bed with me. She could survive without a dog bed, considering all the other places she likes to lay down.
