do "GUESTS" have access to the entire site ?? can they post comments..


my point is that right now there are 95 guests and 17 members ,,,,maybe if you restrict some options to guests they will become members?

I'm 73.825% sure they can only view.. If they want to post they would need to create a log-in.

Ah, our well known lurkers. What can we do to entice you to join? That has always been the 64,000 question! :wink2:

Guests can read any thread on the forums, they just can't post or participate in any way. I've thought about restricting access, but decided not to. Forcing guests to become members doesn't guarantee that they will participate in the site.

Information or advice that helps owners improve the lives of their Shelties is the primary goal of this forum. A member or guest - it still can accomplish the same goal.

Although I wish I could poll the lurkers to find out why they haven't or do not want to join.

Let them see what they are missing out on!

Were there really 95 guests earlier? That has to be a record!

What I don't get is "why be a lurker"? It doesn't cost anything to join and to sign up only requires basic info!

So stop lurkin' and join in!
 
BUT by restricting threads or limiting views of threads maybe more will join ..... hence having more opinions...advice.... info etc... and it helps all of us :biggrin2: Just My Opinion.

yes there was a record set today!:eek2:
 
On another site I frequent (bikes) they restrict picture views only, though the ability to attach stuff as a member is much more permissive so there is a ton of attachments. Otherwise the rules are similar. Of course 95 lurkers might also click adds and thus still help Kelly

Oh and we need a Sheltie smiley and a two cents smiley <add two cents smiley here>
