to my dear little Benson. He has had a horrible year with his colon condition, and I hope his 6th is much better.
I am embarrassed to admit I haven't found a suitable present for a sheltie that's tolerated all the pains he did this year. So I am opening it up to the floor--what would be a cool thing to get him? He doesn't play with toys much, but he does love his big playground ball and puzzles.
So Lisa, this is a once in a lifetime request for you to spend my money!! LOL

Despite the look on his face he was not being tortured!! LOL

Someone got Meadow a "snuffle mat". You hide little bits of treats in it and they have to work through the pieces of fiber to get it. It was a hit with my dogs.

Happy Birthday Benny! How I hope the next year is a better one for you! And your mom too!

If he likes puzzle toys check out barkshop.com. They have the best puzzle toys I’ve ever found. Mine love them!

Forgot to say, Happy Birthday Benson! I truly hope his new year is better. Is the new compounded medication helping him?

That's a toughie to answer so best guess is we don't know? Maybe? Dr Amy has never used it before because she hasn't seen anything like this before. I'm not sure because he's on miralax twice a day as well. He is by and large not ghost pooping any more, and appears to get something out every time he tries (even if its just a small ball) so maybe its the cisapride? We are at the halfway point with dosage--I upped him from the lowest to middle dose when he was really bad three weeks ago. He is far from being well, but he has had a few ok weeks. Next month I want more xrays to see if he has passed or is still loaded up with rocks--yes he is eating rocks. *sigh*

Dog beaches are hard to come by in AZ and although we have lakes, the shoreline is often rocks and many places don't allow dogs. But I have often thought about going to San Diego to the original Dog Beach.
Sadly if I am truly honest--going to his favorite place would be the back yard LOL He's so nervous and reactive he doesn't even enjoy his dog walk. I have to drag him the first half, then when he knows we are on the way home he switches to turbo mode to get home as fast as possible. Fillion and I would love the beach though :)
