So my little Holly woke up on Saturday with her right closed and crusty. I immediately thought it was an eye infection. We took her in and the vet immediately new it was not an eye infection but probably a congenital eye defect. Holly was born with a cleft palate and we have suspected congenital issues in the eyes. We followed up with the ophthalmologist on Tuesday. Not good news. Many defects of the eyes. Here is the diagnosis. 1. Choroidal hypoplasia left eye. 2. Microphthalmia both eyes. 3. Iris-cornea persistent pupillary membranes (ppm) both eyes. 4. Collie eye anomaly. 5. Secondary uveitis. It doesn't look good for longterm sight. She will be on steroid eye drops for the rest of her life. Good news is since we have been giving her the drops she seems more visual and her eyes look much better.
